Recreation Programs

The City of Seward offers several sports and recreation programs throughout the year. In addition to the programs listed below, the annual Mayor’s Fun Run for youth ages 5-12 is held in September or October.

Registrations are currently being accepted for American Legion Baseball

Baseball and Softball

Registration for American Legion Baseball (High School), Pony League (7th & 8th grades), Major Little League (5th & 6th grades) and Minor Little League (3rd & 4th grades) are usually open in January. Registration forms for youth baseball and softball programs for PreK-2nd grades are typically available in March.



Registration for Flag Football for 3rd – 4th grade boys opens in August. Youth Tackle Football for 5th & 6th grade boys opens in May.



Swimming lesson registration happens in April.

Women’s volleyball registration opens in January. Registration for volleyball for 3rd -6th grade girls happens in August.  Women’s 3 on 3 volleyball registration opens in October. An adult co-ed volleyball program takes place in November.

Adult Men’s Basketball registration typically opens in November and the program lasts until March. Registration for youth basketball for 3rd – 6th grades occurs in November.

The City offers both Spring and Fall soccer programs. Registration for the Spring soccer program for PreK-6th grades typically opens in February. Watch for registration for Fall soccer for PreK-2nd grade boys and girls to open in August.

A Youth Tennis Camp for 4th – 12th grades is hosted by the City with registration in May.
